Another hard part of the body restoration is waiting here for you! The inner rocker and also the lower part of the a-pillar has to come out. To make it looking better I show how christine is looking with one original and one NOS fender again. If you have questions about that don't hesitate to ask me. After finishing the body section there will be five more sections you could follow in the future. There will be a Paint , Body and Interior reassembling, Electric and a Power train section.

This is the point where the nightmare began. After boring out the first spot welds more and more of the hidden rust appears. I rember when I ask the bodyman what's about the outer rocker panel, because it was quite looking good to me, he told me to put the cleaning wheel on it and I was immedeatly covered in a cloud of white bondo which was hold by some srews to the rest of the outer rocker. After doing some cutouts so that he could start working on that, I start with the reskinning of the doors which were also rusted through. I carefully get the old skin down and guess was I found - More rust. I brought them away for sandblasting and did some minor welding and what I received back. In the meantime the bodyman work already on the inner wheelhouse, after the old one was cut out too...

As you remember "Never give up" is the goal of this restoration, I found the next bodyman helping me to bring Christine back to Live. I decided to bring the car around 200 miles away from my home which will cause a lot of travelling but I trust in Martin who cares from now for the progress. To take it all more serios now I decided also to start off now with an additonal complete sandblasting. For that it was neccessary to give the body an additional stiffining because we want to put the shell on a rotesserie. The new and hopefully the last bodyman Thomas put some additional steel into the car. Also you will find some more nice rust views at this page...
