Starting Disassembly  & Engine Run...

The first thing I wanted to know before starting the restoration was if the engine will fire up and if all the electric will work. Looking back that wasn't a great idea, because I did that was all this 20 years old salat oil in the motor. The good thing first was that I get the convertible top working fine except the relais which says goodby leaving a smal white cloud in the engine compartment. I openend and closed the top as often as I went into the garage (couldn't get enough of this) until the battery was empty and I had to reload it. After changing the fuel pump I tried to start but the engine crank slowly, so I added the battery from my Calibra V6 to get it turning. I put some fuel directly into the carb and after some missfirering up it comes. O my godness what a sound without any exaust. Don't thinking about the oil I pushed the throttle to see what happens. It works perfect also in the idle and I only had to stop because one of my (original) spark plugs was burning away siting at the open header.
After that the car received a complete washing (inside and outside) and the dissassembling starts... ...
